NHS Blood and Transplant

Organ and tissue donation has always been a cause close to Cor’s heart, and even more so since becoming the first Scot to receive a double hand transplant. Her surgery was life-changing however for so many it is life-saving. We’ll continue to campaign with NHS BT’s goals at heart.

A little information from NHS BT…

NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) is an executive non-departmental public body of England’s Department of Health and Social Care. It was established on 1 October 2005 to take over the responsibilities of two separate NHS agencies: UK Transplant (now renamed Organ Donation and Transplantation), founded by Dr. Geoffrey Tovey in 1972, and the National Blood Service.
