Kelpies Experience Sept 2026

October 27, 2025

Take on The Kelpies Experience – Saturday 5th September 2026

This incredible challenge invites you to climb inside The Kelpies, the world’s largest equine sculptures, for the first ever guided aerial exploration. It’s a thrilling mix of ladders, suspended platforms, nets and cable crossings that lead all the way to the horses’ mouths. When you reach the top, choose your grand finale: a free-hanging abseil or a heart-pounding Quick Flight rope drop back to the ground.

You’ll experience these famous sculptures from a completely new perspective, uncover their stories, and raise vital funds to support amputees across Scotland.

What will the day look like?

You’ll meet the group at Helix Park, Falkirk before being kitted out with your harness and helmet. From there, your expert guides will lead you through a 1.5-hour aerial adventure that takes you inside one of the Kelpies for a once-in-a-lifetime climb.

The course consists of 6 elements and 8 platforms, including seven ladders. You will ascend around 25 metres to the horse’s mouth using a series of ladders, cable crossings, suspended platforms, nets and aerial features, before descending back to ground level by abseil or via the Quick Flight device. This rope-based system gives an initial free-fall sensation before gently lowering you to the ground.

Fundraising

We are asking each participant to raise a minimum of £250 to help Finding Your Feet continue providing clubs, well-being activities and peer support for people affected by amputation or limb absence across Scotland. If you are unsure how to set up your fundraising page, you can check out our handy guide here.

Consider your eligibility

Please contact your GP ahead of signing up if you have any concerns about whether you are medically eligible for this challenge. This could include heart conditions, current cancer treatment, or anything else you may have concerns about.

Due to the challenging nature of the activity and space constraints it is not possible for all to take part. Wheelchair users of people that require crutches or other walking aids on the standard course are not able to take part currently, although the Kelpies experience say this is an experience they are working on.

To access the mouth area you will need to crouch or crawl for a short period. You need to climb up 7 vertical ladders.
