We helped Lesley after her amputation, and now we couldn’t live without her! She’s the reason we’re able to support so many amputees in the Dundee area. Here’s her story.
“I have Spina Bifida and found it very painful to walk. After numerous operations to correct my foot, I elected to have a below knee amputation in 2001. I came across FYF while on the internet and decided to go along to the Ampu-teas to see what it was all about. I haven’t looked back since. A friend said recently that my self-confidence has improved no end and I totally agree with him. Thanks to FYF I’m now proud of my leg. I ski, climb, I’ve even abseiled and next year i’m crewing a Tall Ship!! I totally love working with FYF. Not only do the team and volunteers do incredible work, but seeing the Troopers achieving things they thought they never would and watching the friendships between them develop.”
