Read Cor Hutton’s Open Letter to the NHS
In a time when the NHS is under more pressure than ever – and when public trust feels fragile – this is a moment for something different. A moment to say thank you.
Twelve years ago, Dr Cor Hutton MBE, founder of Finding Your Feet, nearly died from sepsis. She lost both her hands and feet. What followed was a long, tough road: surgeries, setbacks, the loss of a lung, kidney complications, a double hand transplant, a kidney transplant and ongoing health complications.
Through it all, the NHS was there. Not just once, but again and again.
“Every time I thought I’d reached the end, you gave me another beginning.”
This open letter is her way of saying something simple, honest and deeply felt: Thank you.
It’s about remembering the people… the compassion… the humour, because when it comes down to it, care matters and so does being seen.

Who’s made a difference in your life?
Maybe it was someone who showed up when things were hard. A stranger who made you smile. A nurse, a friend, a neighbour, a carer, a colleague, a teacher – anyone who reminded you what kindness looks like.
This is a moment to say thanks. Share your story using #WithAllMyHeart. Let’s fill the internet with something good.
