Do you suffer from chronic pain?

August 18, 2020
The Pain Association Scotland is a national charity that delivers professionally led pain management in the community. The service is delivered through a growing network of self-management groups throughout Scotland and Wales. The groups meet in a variety of urban and rural settings in Hospitals, Community Centres and Health Clinics.
All activities focus on following a Standard Programme of self-management/ pain management topics. Each topic is delivered in a way that makes it possible for individuals to interact and contribute and make sense of pain management. Self-management means you being back in control, not the pain controlling you. The ideas on offer are about becoming a person again rather than a patient.
You do not need a referral from your doctor or other health/ social welfare professional. Simply go along and you will be made to feel welcome. For more information and details of meetings in your area please go to www.painassociation.com, or contact their Head Office on 0800 7836059.
For anyone outwith Scotland and Wales, please ask your Pain Clinic about local Pain Management Groups and also check out our Amputation Info section for some helpful tips on phantom limb pain. https://findingyourfeet.net/amputees/amputation-information/
