Partner Patter: Moran Wealth Management Limited

February 5, 2021

Welcome to our third Partner Patter! We’re shining a light on the corporate partners who do so much to help us continue to provide the highest level of support and opportunities to the amputee community in Scotland. We’ll chat to someone from the company who was part of the decision to choose Finding Your Feet as their charity partner, find out a bit about what they do and why they chose us! Without further ado, we’re delighted to introduce Moran Wealth Management…

At Moran Wealth Management, they don’t believe in leaving the future to chance. They work with entrepreneurs, investors and individuals from all walks of life who want to plan ahead for the best possible financial future, for themselves and for their families. Whether that means a portfolio of well-managed assets; a comfortable retirement; a strong legacy for your family or an end to financial uncertainty and worry, you can rely on them for expert, no-obligation advice.

Based in Lochwinnoch, Moran Wealth Management are a local family business and a full partner of St. James’s Place, a FTSE 100 company. They are committed to supporting the local community through their charitable gifting programme, making regular donations to local charities in order to support those who need it the most.

We became partners with Moran Wealth Management in June 2020 during lockdown and we’re excited to work together on future events to support our Troopers! Just a couple months after teaming up with FYF, Nicola from the team walked an immense 100 miles in 4 weeks for local charities! And without further ado, here’s our interview with Nicola…

How did you find Finding Your Feet?

We were keen to support charities close to our office and give back to the community. Founder Cor Hutton is local to Lochwinnoch and her story was just so inspiring. Having had sepsis myself, I realise how lucky I was that it was caught and treated quickly. On meeting Nicola Booth and the team, I was impressed by how well run Finding Your Feet was and the far-reaching impact the charity has had.

Does what you do tie in with the charity’s mission?

The thing I love most about my work as a financial adviser and wealth manager is playing a part in helping people build a stronger, more confident financial future, regardless of their current situation. So although on the face of it, my day-to-day work looks very different to that of Finding Your Feet, when it comes down to it we share some fundamental commitments. I have always wanted Moran Wealth Management to be a business that plays a part in empowering people; supporting them to become more resilient and to take control of a brighter future for themselves and their families.

What do you look for in a charitable partner?

I look for partners who are passionate about helping others. Charities that are proactive, and sustainable; committed to doing what it takes to make a real difference and create lasting change. I look for partners who really care about what they do, and the people they help – and finally, I like to work with partners who are making a positive contribution to our local community here in Renfrewshire because I believe that when communities grow stronger, everyone stands to gain.

How important do you think virtual activities, like the ones FYF organised, are during the pandemic?

Absolutely essential: virtual activities are so important, to combat isolation and the hidden problems of COVID-19. In times when physical proximity is difficult or impossible, virtual connections are a great way to help motivate people to find their own strength.

What inspires you about FYF?

It’s the people behind the charity that inspired me the most. Finding Your Feet is a great charity with an inspirational founder, and a committed and dedicated team. Real troopers at the heart of their organisation.
