Our FYF Summer Festival was a smashing success and it’s absolutely in no small part due to these incredible organisations and people who supported the event. With their help, and everyone who attended and took part, we’ve raised over a whopping £7.5k to support amputees across Scotland!

If you’re just keen to check out all the pictures from the day, you can see our full Facebook photo album here.

First up are our amazing sponsors who backed the event. Slater and Gordon were our main event sponsor, donating very generous funds for the day as well as lots of goodies for you to use and take away. Next up, you’ll have seen Nate Cleary hard at work all day and evening taking professional photos of you all, as well as kindly donating towards the day. Matheson Damp Services, true to their name, kept you folk and the musicians dry by hiring a couple of marquees for us. Big thanks also to Morgan Sindall Construction who generously donated to the running of the event, and Angela Higgins of Resonance Capital for sponsoring Paul’s music set.

When our guests came in, they probably thought they were having a fever dream – with the first view most were greeted with being the Imperial Scottish Garrison (Star Wars) marching around – and what a welcome they gave! If that wasn’t bewildering enough on a Scottish summer’s day, Hollie Haze was dancing with fire and stoating about on stilts (really getting a feel for the double-amputee experience!). As you went into the garden, you’ll have seen Siobhan Morton Makeup Artistry giving the kids (and some adults!) a true festival makeover, pairing nicely alongside Beady Chic Jewellery’s accessories. Further into the garden, Ian Owen was grilling up some delicious burgers after camping out in the garden overnight to cook some slow cooked pulled pork for you all. The meat on the BBQ was kindly discounted by William Phelps Butchers, and the rolls donated by the team at Tesco Superstore in Paisley.

Throughout the day we had brilliant music thanks to these wonderful artists. If you’d like to check out any, here are some tunes from them all and be sure to check out their pages for more! Where would the artists have been without the brilliant sound set up too? Thanks to John Sparks and Ian the Sound Guy for setting everything up and keeping on top of the music. Shoutout to Sandy Weir & Celtic Radio for not only hosting the stage, but also live streaming to their audience.

Huge shoutout and thanks to everyone who donated prizes to our raffle and our (not so) silent auction. And last but definitely not least, a massive thanks to our wonderful volunteers who ensured everything ran smoothly – we couldn’t have done it without all of your help!

Time for a little rest for the FYF Team before planning the next event…
